Construction Starts on Walnut Hill – Central Expressway Development

It’s been five years since more than 40 acres of aging apartments were razed on this site at Walnut Hill and Central Expressway. New owners have now begun construction on what is to be called Preston Hollow Village. Trader Joe’s grocery store and Frost Bank will anchor the development’s retail and office components. The development will also include restaurants, shops, and apartments with tree-lined streets and patios part of the vision.

The property owner Kroenke Holdings of Missouri and development partner Provident Realty Advisors Inc intend to develop the full Preston Hollow Village project themselves.

Phase 2, to the north of the retail and office buildings, will include more than 500 rental units and additional retail between three high-end apartment blocks. Townhouses are planned for the west end of the property, adjoining the residential neighborhood. The corner at Walnut Hill and Central Expressway is reserved for future development, perhaps an iconic residential building with retail on the bottom.
