Dallas-Based Ziosk Bringing Tech to Restaurant Tables
Ziosk is bringing tech to the table for restaurant customers. Its Wifi-based Ziosk tablet allows diners to order, view the menu, play games, and even pay all at their table. The concept came from students in a Southern Methodist University MBA class where students were challenged to develop ready-for-market products. Baum, chairman and co-founder of Ziosk, partnered with students Shawn Gentry, Viren Balar and Raymond Howard to develop the business.
Restaurant chains including Chili’s Bar & Grill, Applebees and On the Border now offer the device at more than 250 locations. Five Chili’s locations in Dallas-Fort Worth carry Ziosk tablets.
