Cooper Institute Takes FitnessGram International
The Cooper Institute signed an agreement with the country of Hungary to bring their FitnessGram program to combat the growing epademic of childhood obesity in the country.
The program assesses overall health not just athletic capability as some school programs currently tend to measure. FitnessGram assesses body mass index, aerobic capacity, strength, muscular endurance, flexibility and stamina.
Through FitnessGram and other programs, the Cooper Institute is involved in over 67,000 schools across the U.S. and is expected to reach 1.3 million children, teachers and parents in Hungary. As part of Dallas-based Cooper Aerobics Center the institute is dedicated to worldwide health research and education.
