Victory Park apartment project just weeks away from start

Camden Property Trust will begin construction on their Victory Park apartment complex any day now. The 423 units will be on the parking lot just north of American Airlines Center. They purchased the  6-acre site from Victory Park developer Hillwood early in 2012.

It’s the fourth multifamily rental project in the Victory Park neighborhood, located on the northwest edge of downtown Dallas. Developer Mill Creek Residential and Addison-based investor Behringer Harvard are building a 378-unit rentalcommunity southwest of American Airline Center along Victory Avenue. Novare Group is underway on their 24-story, 336-unit apartment tower between Houston Street and Woodall Rodgers Freeway. Developer Alamo Manhattan is building the 263-unit Moda project on Harry Hines Boulevard. North of Victory Park on Goat Hill, Trammell Crow Residential and Behringer Harvard are  constructing their 10-story, 365-unit Alexan apartments.

The four projects add a total of more than 1,700 residential units to Victory Park. That should be a boost for the area’s retail space which has lagged since the development began opening in 2001.
