Deep Ellum’s makeover is in full swing

Pecan Lodge is moving from the Dallas Farmers Market to 2702 Main Street in Deep Ellum.

Pecan Lodge owners Justin and Diane Fourton hope to open Pecan Lodge in its new home by late spring. That’s about the time the farmers market’s new operators plan to begin remodeling Shed 2, Pecan Lodge’s current downtown location.

Their new home is one of the 27 buildings and nine parking lots in Deep Ellum recently purchased by Scott Rohrman’s 42 Real Estate. Many of the buildings were vacant when acquired, but are now beginning to lease: The BrainDead brew pub will also open this spring one block from Pecan Lodge. Neighbors include Life of Riley, the Rachel Nash Gallery, Kettle Art and Taboo Tattoo — all of which are currently having their storefronts renovated. Rohrman says they are working with a number of prospective tenants and more is on the way.
