Southwest Airlines lists 15 cities that will get nonstop service out of Dallas Love Field
On October 13, 2014, the Wright amendment expires, allowing airlines to fly nonstop service from Dallas Love Field to any U.S. airport. Southwest Airlines will add nonstop flights to 15 cities.
- New York LaGuardia
- Orange County, Calif.
- Chicago Midway
- Fort Lauderdale
- San Diego
- Las Vegas
- Los Angeles
- Washington Reagan National
The map below illustrates the first five cities available October 13, 2014, and the additional 10 to begin November 2, 2014. Flights will be available for purchase when Southwest publishes the schedules in May.
Of the five airports to begin direct flights on October 13, are Southwest’s top four cities in daily departures (Chicago Midway, 244; Las Vegas, 219; Baltimore, 210; and Denver, 170) and No. 10 Orlando, which has 101 departures.
Southwest chairman and CEO Gary Kelly made the announcement of new service and confirmed that the 16 cities now served by nonstop flights from Love Field will retain service, though possibly with lower daily frequency.
