Oak Lawn’s big dome is almost done

The Old Parkland Hospital campus is gaining some new additions, most notably, a tower with a dome roof on Oak Lawn near Harry Hines Blvd. The high domed roof is patterned after Thomas Jefferson’s Rotunda building at the University of Virginia, and towers 10 stories above the adjacent elevated Dallas North Tollway. The structure is one of three office buildings, “designed to be a sanctuary in the midst of urban chaos, a place where peaceful landscapes intersect productive workspaces and beautiful design,” as described in the topping out ceremony’s invitation.

The new development ajoins the historic hospital which Crow Family Holdings restored in 2005. All the new buildings will be clad in the historic brick exterior just as the rest of the buildings constructed by Crow Family Holdings.
