Victory Park Project Begins Phase One
Victory Park’s redevelopment is beginning, with a focus on pedestrian-friendly improvements to Olive Street and Victory Park Lane. Phase One, slated for completion in late 2014, will improving connectivity between American Airlines Center/Victory Plaza and the southern area of Victory Park. Improvements include: a raised crosswalk and a median added on Olive Street, connecting Victory Park Lane and Victory Plaza; a signalized crosswalk at Olive Street and Victory Park Lane for pedestrians crossing from American Airlines Center to the southern area of Victory Park; and On Victory Park Lane, removal of existing raised medians and street lights, adding wider sidewalks to accommodate large outdoor patios, and adding additional raised crosswalks.
Future phases will add more retail, restaurant, entertainment and office space throughout the district. Storefront enhancements, graphics and landscaping, and way-finding signage will be added as well as street design changes. North Houston Street and Victory Avenue will be converted to two-way traffic, adding dedicated bike lanes to connect the park in the center of Victory Park with the end of Katy Trial.
The 75-acre mixed-use development,is located in downtown Dallas at the intersection of Interstate 35, the Dallas North Tollway and Woodall Rodgers Freeway.
