Construction starts on Oak Lawn seniors project

Construction has started on a 7-story seniors apartment building near Turtle Creek.

Developers have broken ground for a 7-story seniors housing project overlooking Dallas’ Lee Park.

The Belmont Village Senior Living will have 201 apartments and is located at 3535 N. Hall Street in Oak Lawn.

The building is scheduled to open in mid-2013 and will have independent and assisted living units for seniors.

The project near Turtle Creek will include a fitness center, indoor swimming pool and a technology center and will have dining facilities.

Belmont Village Senior Living has been in business since 1997 and has communities in Georgia, Illinois, Tennessee, California, Arizona, Kentucky and Texas.

The Houston-based company bought the 1.6-acre Oak Lawn development site in early 2008 after another developer cancelled plans for a high-rise residential tower on the land.
