Public Schools
The Dallas Independent School District has the two top nationally ranked high schools in the US. The School for the Talented & Gifted and the School of Science & Engineering, are ranked by Newsweek in 2011 as #1 and #2 in the nation, respectively.
In 2010-2011, there were 133 state-designated exemplary and recognized public school campuses in Dallas. In the City of Dallas by School District: Dallas Independent School District- 78, Richardson- 33, Duncanville- 8, Plano- 5, Carrollton-Farmers Branch- 5.
Private Schools
Many private schools are available such as the Hockaday School, Jesuit College Prep School, St Mark’s School and Ursuline Academy. Dallas also has international schools, faith-based schools, and special needs schools.
