The 100 largest metropolitan areas lost a total of 459,400 jobs in the financial-activities sector in the past four years, but the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area bucked that trend and led the nation with an increase of 7,600 jobs.
That’s according to an analysis of data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics by On Numbers.
DFW was one of 11 metropolitan areas out of the top 100 that managed to grow the number of jobs in the financial-activities field. San Antonio, Pittsburgh and Nashville were the next in line for job growth in the sector.
The top loser was New York City, which lost 48,600 jobs, followed by Los Angeles which was down 40,300.
